The Reclaimed Vehicle Fabrication Laboratory grew out of Shockoe Moto, the motorcycle repair business I started in 2002, originally located in the Shockoe Bottom neighborhood in Richmond, VA.

Fabricating bits of bracketry for my customers grew into an interest in metal shaping (putting compound curves in sheet metal, through shrinking and stretching). I still have much to learn about this, and when time permits I will share what I have learned in the Blog section of this website.

In developing some of the pieces shown here, I have been fortunate to collaborate with John Ryland of Classified Moto, one of the design luminaries of the new custom bike scene.
